A workshop in conjunction with KDD-2005,
Workshop Schedule (pdf)
Workshop Notes (3.3M,pdf)
The main goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners
interested in anomaly detection, and to create a forum for discussing
recent advances in this area, to understand better the practical
challenges in developing and deploying data mining systems for anomaly
detection, and to inspire research on principled methods
and techniques for detecting and predicting anomalies.
Chicago, IL - August 2005
This workshop aims to explore research efforts on data mining,
machine learning, and related techniques that address the problem of
detecting anomalies (irregularities that cannot be explained by simple
domain models and knowledge) in data. The workshop will also attempt
to study the common tasks that need to be
addressed in practical applications that require anomaly detection
tools and algorithms, such as data collection, sampling, and
pre-processing.
